When you build with Duvanco, you can expect the Duvanco difference throughout the home building process, including working directly with our resident interior decorator, Linda Bridges. It's Linda who makes our show homes look great and she will work with you to coordinate the finishing elements of your new Duvanco home.
When staging Duvanco's model homes, Linda places an emphasis on the rooms she feels are most important to clients such as kitchens and baths. "When it comes to these rooms, you've got to 'wow' them." Spa-like bathrooms and kitchens with a place for everything are most desired by homeowners and Linda knows how to create spaces people will love.
In smaller spaces, such as Duvanco's townhomes, Linda likes to think "in the box". She works to coax the most out of available space by being conscious of usage in drawers and pantries. "In a townhome you can't bring everything with you, so we think about ways to lay out storage for maximum space efficiency."
Often her involvement starts before the home is built, working with Duvanco's designers and builders as they create new home designs. Occasionally she may find details she wants to tweak a little like placement of wall sconces.
For our show homes, Linda picks out the cabinets, flooring, counter surfaces and door styles including hardware depending on the options budget. She also chooses paint colours and furnishings. For room colours, Linda cautions that she has to be careful. "Sometimes you want to be really bold, but only on one wall. Eventually the home has to sell!"
Linda's goal in staging Duvanco homes is to try to come up with "unique ideas that stick in people's minds". It's all done with the intention of showing off a Duvanco home at its best and inspiring buyers to imagine the possibilities.
"It's a huge bonus that an interior decorator comes with the package. We made all our decisions in forty-eight hours because we're a military family here on a house-hunting trip, so that was a huge asset for us."
